Turrents
Smoky
This is the weapon that every single user starts with and everyone who has played Tanki Online has used it. It is unlocked at the rank of recruit, and from that point on, each upgrade is two ranks above the previous upgrade. It is the only weapon to have each upgrade unlocked that way.
How It Works:
Smoky is a weapon that works damage by firing out a shell from the gun. The shell only does damage on the tank that it hits: it does not have any splash. It can autobalance up and down fairly well if the tank it is shooting at is higher/lower than it.Till 60 meters it does his 100% damage after 60 to 100 meters it gos to 50% and after 100 meters 0%.
It does quite a bit of damage per shot and has quite good reload. However, in damage per second (DPS) it is outnumbered by the superior firebirds and twins. Thus, it needs to stay out of range and shoot from a distance to be at maximum usefulness against these weapons.
Twins
A very cheap, but effective close combat weapon. An excelent weapon to use against the lower ranks, but simply does not have the power to affect the higher ranks.
It is mainly due to the fact that it has the highest damage per minute of all the weapons and it looks awesome (my opinion) at M3, is why the twins is the most seen weapon among the lower ranks and is the most upgraded weapon on Tanki, as it is cheap, effective and looks good. This will not work, however, on large maps where the Twins' limited range makes it ineffective against shaft, railguns and M3 Smoky, where there are likely to be snipers, especially when defending a flag in CTF or kill-stealing in TDM.
If you have enough funds to buy M3 Twins, do it as soon as possible because it is also ineffective against WO3, 4, 5 and Generals, as they may have M3 Thunder, which can take out The M3 Mammoth in 4-5 shots.
Firebird
Firebird is the third weapon of Tanki Online to be unlocked, and the first specialist weapon. It isn't the most popular of weapons, but still is rather powerful. It is unlocked at the rank of Corporal, and the <1 upgrade is unlocked 1 rank later, at master corporal. M2 and M3 upgrades follow, each two ranks away from the previous upgrade. Along with Twins, it is one of two weapons to have upgrades unlocked this way.
How It Works:
Firebird is a limited-range-limited-consumption-large-damage style weapon. That is very confusing, so we need to separate that out. Firstly, it is Limited-range. This is obvious, Firebird has extremely limited range and you need to get up close to someone to attack them.
It also has limited consumption. This means that to shoot your weapon, you shoot out a steady stream of fire that does damage whenever you press spacebar. Letting go of your spacebar means that you stop shooting, thus meaning you need to hold down spacebar to shoot. However, after 5 seconds, the consumption (the amount of fire you have in your weapon) runs out and you need to wait for your consultant.
Railgun
The Railgun is a widely used used large-caliber gun in the game. It can kill many tanks with just one right shot. It is generally used as a sniping gun on large- or medium-sized maps, as damage dealt is not reduced over the distance. Upgraded versions of the Railgun have the potential to deal large amounts of damage to even the most well-armoured Tanks. Although it is considered slightly expensive, the cost is relieved by special events such as June's 25% off or the forum posting that helps you with financial problems.
The Railgun is mostly used with the Dictator and Hornet, and sometimes with the Viking, but it can be used with any tank base.
Isida:
The Isida is one of the most powerful weapons. It can beat almost any small caliber gun and, when it gets close, nobody survives. It is usually used in fast tanks, like Hornet, because it has a small range. But it is also used with Dictator, Viking and sometimes Mammoth.
Special Abilities:
Isida has a special abilities which allows it to heal his teammates, and also to heal itself with half of the life it takes from the enemies.
Thunder:
Thunder is the strongest medium-caliber gun. It is something like Smoky, and can beat any level equivalent Smoky. Although, it is not recommended use in M0 or M1. It is often used by the higher ranks of the game. As everything comes with a cost, its price is too expensive, and that's a reason for the new players that do not use it. It is mostly used with Viking, Dictator, Hornet and Mammoth. With an M3 Thunder, you can easily beat an M3 Railgun.
Special Abilities:
Thunder has the special ability to damage all the enemies surrounding the hit place. But if the shot hit's any surface too close from yourself, you get damaged too. If friendly-fire is enabled, your teammates are also damaged.
Base Paint:
The best paints to use with a Thunder are:
Rustle (12000): It's the best for that who use Thunder is Rustle because it has protection against Thunder itself, wich protects you from your own fire, and as also protection against Isida, wich usualy is always near you when attacking, wich makes your own shots damage yourself.
Freeze
Freeze is a very special weapon. It can freeze enemies, making them turn and walk slowly. It's a strong weapon against Isida, which is just a little boy against this toy. In the right hands, it's one of the strongest weapons on the battlefield. It is most used with Dictator and Hornet.
Special Abilities:
This weapon has the special abilitie of freeze the other tanks. They take about 5-10 seconds to defreeze, depending on how frozen it was, but the Firebird can defreeze them faster.
Ricochet
Ricochet is a powerful gun that fires some form of a bouncy plasma. The plasma will bounce off of walls, but hit tanks on impact. Because of this, you can use Ricochet to hit targets that would otherwise be impossible to hit. In tight spaces, you can fire several shots in there to clear out tanks without even taking a single hit. However, you must be carefull to not hit yourself on accident. Ricochet has longer range than Twins, and still packs more punch. Ricochet is also good in the open, however you will be more exposed to longer range weapons.
Special Abilities:
Ricochet fires a special ball of energy that can bounce off of objects. This is very usefull in clearing a small area or hitting a tank behind a wall.
Shaft
Shaft is a new weopon to Tanki online and is a long range sniper like weapon. Hold space to zoom in. Use the "WASD" keys to move while in zoom mode. In zoom mode there will be a green crosshair, try to move the cross hair onto your target. Hold space to charge up the gun. The charge must reach a certain amount in order to gain enough energy to fire. Releasing space before the sufficient energy bar (amount of energy your charging bar needs to reach in order to fire) will cause the gun to lose its energy. Releasing the space key after the charging bar is past the energy requirement bar will cause the gun to fire. The damage depends on how far the charging bar reached in the full bar. The gun will not "overheat" when it gets to its maximum. You can hold the power at maximum until you need to fire by holding the space bar. Remember the gun can shoot through several targets. As the charging energy bar reaches over the sufficient energy bar the gun will becom "unstable" and the crosshair will start to sway. The nearer the charging energy bar reaches the end the stronger the sway will be so try to keep your crosshair on the target as you are charging up for an attack. This gun, just like the Railgun is not recommended for close combat, especially againt close combat weapons such as Firebird, Freeze or Isida.

Hulls
Wasp
Every tanker starts Tanki Online with Wasp and Smoky combination. Wasp has basically two key features:
Wasp is (1) the cheapest and (2) the fastest tier 1 hull in Tanki Online.
Choosing Wasp as your tank hull you'll be able to save some crystals and upgrade your tank faster than your rivals. Many tankers choose this tank hull for the sake of its speed, cos Wasp is the only tier 1 hull that gives a player a sense of speed and dynamics during battle. It is also an ideal hull for capturing enemy flags in CTF mode on early stages of Tanki Online.
Surely it has some drawbacks: Wasp lacks armor and stability. But if you learn how to use its speed in substitution for armor, you'll be the baddest tanker on the battlefield.
Hunter
Feel like you need more armor than with Wasp and more speed than with Titan? Try using Hunter! It's a versatile tank hull, suitable for designing a versatile tank. Moderate speed, good armor - Hunter is just as good as it costs. Having a Hunter you may use any turret available in Tanki Online (though I personally don't recommend using Firebird), and any game mode: DM, TDM or CTF.
Hunter is the most balanced tier 1 tank hull.
Though Hunter is not really recognized by capers, it's still capable of caping enemy flags in CTF. Especially if you have some Nitro to boost your speed up.
3. Titan:
Titan grants its owner maximum protection possible at the cost of speed. Unfortunately Titan is also the most expensive tier 1 hull in Tanki Online - it's almost two times more expensive than Wasp! But if you feel like you need maximum protection, than Titan is an obvious choice.
Titan is great for Deathmatches, and because of it's low speed it is used mostly for defending the base when playing CTF. Using Titan for attacking enemy base and capturing flags is nonsense even under Nitro (cos it will probably finish long before you return back to your base). Being a defender Titan driver is also very dependent on enemy attackers. If the enemy is attacking aggressively, you'll have a chance to acquire many frags and pretend to be on top of the list. If not - you'll end up at the bottom.
Titan grants tanker maximum protection at the cost of speed.
All the above means that Titan is better used in Deathmatches, where Titan's thick armor helps it to continue at the firing position for long hence acquiring many frags between respawns.
Dictator
Dictator occupies the place in between of tiers 1 and 2 hulls, which makes it the best tier 1 or the worst tier 2 hull of Tanki Online, depending on your point of view. All in all a high-end Dictator surpasses Wasp (and even its rival tier 2 hull Viking!) in its speed and equals Titan in its armor.
Quickly upgrading Dictator to M3 you'll get a huge advantage! And loose a lump sum of crystals.
When comparing Dictator to tier 1 hulls it becomes apparent that low-end modifications of Dictator are well underpowered, while high-end modifications are pretty expensive. Medium tank Dictator is almost 5 times more expensive than medium tank Hunter. Though when comparing Dictator to tier 2 hulls (especially vs. Viking) ist drawbacks are not so evident. So what's wrong with Dictator and why is it almost 3.5 times less expensive than Viking?
Though its tech specifications are awesome and it looks like Dictator M3 has just 30 h.p. less armor than Viking M3, its less obvious drawbacks are:
Oversized dimentions (Dictator is much bigger and taller tank, which makes it an easy target);
low stability under fire (especially when playing vs. Ricochet and Twins guns);
offset to the back turret and hence long "hood".
All the above results in overall poor handling, which means that sooner or later you'll end up in buying yourself a new tier 2 hull to play. So if you want to buy a decent tier 2 hull, why spending crystalls on Dictator?
Hornet
Hornet is the first tier 2 hull that is available in Tanki Online. It is meant for creating light special purpose tanks mostly for capturing enemy flags in CTF mode. Though it lacks protection (especially when playing Deathmatches), its small dimensions and high speed permits hiding behind buildings and structures, which makes Hornet a hard target. It is also the cheapest tier 2 tank hull available.
Hornet's high speed and small dimensions are its best armor.
All the above makes Hornet a perfect tank for CTF. Covertly advance to the enemy base, capture the flag and use all your speed to leave the base. No other tank in Tanki Online can match Hornet in this aspect.
Viking
Viking is the most versatile tier 2 hull in Tanki Online, suitable for all game modes (and especially CTF and TDM modes). Viking combines great performance characteristics with good stability, which makes it especially good under fire of enemy Twins and Ricochet guns. Want a tank hull good for close combat and having moderate speed? Viking is the obvious choice.
Great performance characteristics combined with good handling and stability.
There are basically two reasons not to buy Viking: you are a hard-headed caper (buy yourself a Hornet) or you are focused on playing Deathmatches (then Mammoth is maybe a better choice).
Mammoth
Mammoth is the most heavily armored and expensive tank hull in Tanki Online. It is really a fearsome mobile fortress on the battlefield. Though many believe that Mammoth is a slow moving tank, M3 modification is almost as fast as Hunter, not long ago accounted as a tank with moderate speed. Just don't rush for the flag on large maps and you'll be OK.
Mammoth is the most heavily armored tank hull in Tanki Online.
Because of its comparatively low speed Mammoth is used mostly in Deathmatches, and as a defend or support tank in CTF, especially during drug wars. First Aid kits, Double Armor and Protective Paints give Mammoth maximum bonus on the battlefield. Mammoth is also a psychological weapon: why bothering killing Mammoth if there are always plenty of Hornets and Dictators on the battlefield?
